Fashion Photography Questions.

Fashion Photography

In todays assignment I am looking at the manipulation of fashion photography and how they portray the model who has been shot from the photographer. It seems the general public believe everything they see from magazines, newspapers or billboards when looking at photos of 'perfect' models. The lie of it all is that in the fashion photography industry they believe that these models that they are photographing look nice, but truthfully when going through there work they decide to manipulate the picture in to making the model look 'amazing' so the question I am an answering today is;

To what degree should an image manipulated to go into a fashion magazine?

I believe that there is a high set of manipulation when the fashion industry decide to put photos into popular magazines just like 'Vogue'  when taking the photo the way it's structured and shown is completely different to what they decide to publish on to there magazines. The magazines decide to make photos they are, lets say 'portraying' looks perfect and what they WANT the scene and model to look like instead of what the model REALLY looks like.  When I watched the video of 'The September Issue' which showed exclusive behind the scenes footage of how the fashion industry exactly worked and it seemed that the crew were very persistent with what they wanted the model to wear, if the clothing was not high of there imagination or what they had in mind then they would get angry and annoyed with the concept of what they wanted for the photoshoot.
